    Year Of Jubilee

    Happy Holiday/Merdeka!

How did you guys celebrate independence day? Sleep at home? Went to Pyramid? The Curve? Putra Jaya? Dataran Merdeka?

Picture courtesy from Chong, fireworks at
    'The Curve' during merdeka eve

Since today is our nations 50th year of saying bye bye to British, melzkc.blogspot.com is going to have a post on something good about this country for once.

Whatever that I am gona say here today might cost doubts among some of you, I would really love to hear your point of view/comment/disagreement.

One of the good things about Malaysia that we are made up of multicultural society, if I were to list all out, its gona take up quite a lot of word space.

I am not only talking about multicultural citizens, but also different background people from various parts of the world, come here whether for study or work purposes.

I can strongly say that our country host the most "race of people". Look around you and you know what I mean.

It is sad to hear news about racial dispute among various groups of people, what more coming across it almost everyday during my secondary school life.

Where the guys toilet turns into a boxing arena. Imagine if your shitting inside and a fight broke out. Not only will you hear "blug blug blug" as your shit falls into the toilet bowl.

Maybe also got "Oi! Lu ada mau mati ar?" followed by some punch and kick sound, free entertainment weh. Just hope they don't budge into your door la...

It happens due to belief differences? Unfairness of certain government ordain/law? Sense of racial superiority? Face problem?

Let me ask you guys, is Malaysian food awesome? If no, then too bad for you la.

If yes, then think about this. What if last time the older generation failed to unite and be tolerant with each other to kick the English out of this land, what will happen? Hmm...

Would we be able to gain access to our so loved nasi lemak, teh tarik, char kueh tiao, bak ku teh(non-halal), roti canai, tosai?

I'll die man, and Gwen will die too! =P

    Yummy!

Had to admit that we still need to improve in this area, maybe one day this issue would turn for the better? Never will I know.

Besides that, Malaysia has world-class infrastructure.

Sadly we also got longkang-class drivers.

Our roads can rival many other 1st world country such certain parts in US, German.

"Mel/KC you crazy ar?! Rival 1st world country my foot la! Our roads macam tahi you know!", hold your horses and let me explain.

*Don't scroll down too fast!! Must do this exercise to get my point, if you drive on the north-south highway you will understand this more, other roads also can.*

Close your eyes and imagine there are absolutely no cars on the north-south highway and you are speeding really really really really fast!! Take 5-10 seconds to visualize this.

Now ask yourself, any of this things came into your mind.

    1. "Aiyoh! After got cow come out of nowhere how ar!?"
    2. "Road got hole later my car wheel enter then I lost control how leh!?"
    3. "Wah.. later road not build finish I drove off the cliff die la!?"

So, you get my point? ;)

Of cause you never thought of it rite? Malaysian roads are good, but not all of them thats for sure.

We can get from one end of the peninsula to the other and even able to drive into Singapore & Thailand some more.

When balik kampung time, are the roads bad?(Yeah I know some places are) Well as for me when I went back mum's hometown, my journey was comfortable, not much bumpy roads like old times.

    My conclusion:
    Infrastructure >> Good
    Drivers >> Need major improvement

It is us drivers(not all) that made our roads reputation drop.

I wanted to submit this picture to 'The Star' newspaper, but got problem so I fail to send it. =(

Took this picture when I was on the way to college, don't ask
me how it get there without breaking the divider, this is what I call
    "Malaysian driver pro-ness"

Other then that, this is what I love the most in this country.

    NO NATURAL DISASTER!!

No need me to elaborate on this rite? So evident la, my house roof is still stick to itself for 11-12 years already. =)

Now, the final part of my long post.

What Malaysia had lost over the years: Becoming the central education center of Asia.

Believe it or not, in the entire Asian continent, there are only 6 countries which many of its people can speak good English, some even use it in their daily life instead of their own mother tongue.

Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Philippine, Sri Langka & Malaysia.

    Not even Japan, Korea, China.

Don't believe me, try think a little deeper, compare other Asian country with us, and you will start to notice this shocking truth.

The reason Malaysia could beat the other 5 country in terms of becoming the education center of Asia is due to:

We beat India, Sri Langka & Philippine because of our infrastructure advancement.

Compare our roads and theirs, some ada lembu menghalang jalan also, no need me to name which country la, you all know.

"Eh, Singapore and Hong Kong more power then us la Mel/KC, how can you say we beat them?"

Take a look at this and see whats the difference between this 2 country.

Yes! Our balls land is bigger! Therefore more space to build college, universities, institution, if we were to compare.

Even though Hong Kong's land is bigger then Malaysia, but they got no space already, thats why their building all expend upwards instead of sideways.

Sadly our country has lost that strength, due to internal law and order problem, crime rates sky rocketing, corruption, bastard that loves to exploit foreign people, social problem.

Nevertheless, Malaysia is still our country, of cost we hope to do the best for it.

By the way, I wana to highlight something, Loving your country and loving your government is 2 different thing.

So do you love your country? What about your/our government?

*Note: I'm not being racist or "national-cist" in this post, if I accidentally offend you, please don't take it to heart ok?* =)

    Term 2 Lunch Service

    Short post for the day!

I went for Chris's friend lunch service a number of weeks ago, his friend is a term 2 student.

As usual, French style serve the bread 1st before the starter.

Before I started this diploma course, I thought any glass that has a stem in the middle are know as wine glass.

I was wrong, the glass above is a 'water goblet', as the name had indicated, only water are to be served in it.

If any of you notice, in western restaurant they put something like this in the middle or side of the table.

This kind of decoration don't play play ah...

    Got name wan you know!

    Its call 'center piece'.

After a while, the starter was ready to be served.

I was expecting something appealing, something like wad I had during the dinner service I went last month.

    I never liked veggie... =(

Anyhow, the main course was good.

I love the steak! But the carrot and long bean no taste wan.. I added some salt to make it taste better.

Sadly the dessert a little too sweat for me.

Tambah pulak I try to cut it with the fork, the cake in return became flat... =/

Oh well, nobody is perfect, and I will be serving soon!!

Term 1 ending already, time flies..

This year especially, so much had happen and change, all we can do is just look back and give a *sigh*...

Anyway, will try to keep my updates coming along, stay tune! =D

    I've Got Punk'd!

August 16, 1989. It was the day.......

One of the landscape pictures mum took when she visited NZ

Alright! Lets cut the grandmother story, it was 16th of August 2007, I was not as care free like 18 years ago.

Projects to be done, restaurants to visit, assessment and assignment to worry. Nevertheless, birthday wishes came in via MSN, friendster, SMS and face to face.

You guys made my day! =)

Anyway, my team of 5 people(David, Rebekah, Chris, Jeff and myself) had to do a research on any restaurant of our choice, I suggested Ogawa restaurant.

I shall not elaborate more about my visitation to the restaurant, I'll save it for the next post.

After all the research, we had dinner there.

Rebekah and the watermelon, its unfair cause don't have your
picture, while other all got, so I put this up~ =P

*Note: At this point of time, I had absolutely no idea of their plan*

When we almost finish our food, Jeff and Rebekah went off to pick up Sio Sen.

So left David, Chris and me waiting. They went off for a really long time, Sio Sen is not staying at Timbaktu or something, its just around the neighborhood.

I called Rebekah... "Owh, we are getting your cake."

Who the heck would leak such info to the birthday boy if it were to be a surprise? Moreover Chris and David looked like this...

Which part of them looked like they had a plan in mind?

I thought to myself, no way I can get thrown into the pool or kena some birthday bashing gimmick.

I did not suspect a thing.

Finally Jeff and the rest came back for us, we bid Restaurant Ogawa farewell and head to the old time lepak place - Asia Cafe.

    The one on top

Nothing much happened here, we just took some pictures, talked a bit, drink some stuff.

Chris, me & David, super tired after a day of project rushing

Then, from my back, Sio Sen and Jeff brought me a piece of chocolate cheese cake! =D

Sadly I couldn't eat it, the cheese smell was too strong for me to bare, Jeff had to finish it. Sorry guys~! I really appreciate it, but... Cheese just kicks my nose too much... @.@

It was kinda late and we left, Jeff had to send me home.

Sio Sen & me on the way to my slaughter home in Jeff's car

My guard was totally down, because:
    1. I already gotten a piece of cake
    2. There is no swimming pool or what so ever to get we met
    3. Everyone was tired
    4. I'm going home!
    5.
Who the heck would surprise a person twice?

    I'm SAFE!!!

    FAT CHANCE~!!!

Pay attention to the series of "conning" taking place.

1.Disarm targets electronic from the front of their nose
(Things to disarm: Camera & camera Phone)

Rebekah: "Eh, lend me your phone I wan to transfer some songs."
    Innocent Me: "Sure thing."

Sio Sen: "Pass me your camera."
    Innocent Me: "Aite."

    2. Take target to some place where he will less suspect

(Note: My house is an apartment = got swimming pool)

Jeff: "Eh I wan to pee la, can go your house ar?"
    Chris: "Me too!"
Innocent Me: "No problem, you guys can use the club house there got toilet."

Rebekah asked me a question... "Eh, your house swimming pool can use wan ar?" And I DID NOT SUSPECT A THING!

    3. Use already "finished" item

    -Best part comes last-

To cut the entire story short, after we arrived and went toilet, I almost got pushed into the pool at MY OWN house. I tell ya, the wall, lamppost and railing was my best friend that night.

Once I found a chance I ran away from the "hot zone".

    I'm SAFE!!!

    FAT CHANCE!!

Jeff as usual started the "Fine la, friend like this, bla bla bla...".

I still refuse to go into the pool despite of his taunting, I was telling him, "sorry la boss, hari ini tak nak......"

THEN!!!! As they were closing on my back as if they wanted to call it a day and I still continue giving my excuse why I don't wan to get wet.

BAM!! A piece of cake come out from NO WHERE and smash on to my face by Jeff!!

"Happy birthday"~! And they ran as fast as they could... I cant chase them and "share my joy" cause the cake totally covered my eyes and glasses... -.-

WHERE THE @#$% THE CAKE COME FROM LA?! Kan only you guys bought one and that has already been consumed???

    3 words.

    I GOT PUNK'D!!!

    I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!

Me and my friends did that to Chloe last year(different style) and now someone did it to me!

    3. Use already "finished" item - buy an extra cake just in case target manage to escape from midnight swim...

    What goes around comes around.

Some one just had to get wet.

    Unsuspecting victim

Sorry la David, Jeff was suppose to enter the pool, I guess something went wrong during the lure...

So funny la, Jeff sat on the floor and hug the lamppost, refused to budge. Too bad I did not have the picture.

Anyhow it was a fun & tiring day, it will be a day I will remember. =)

Bottom: Chris & me, Up: Jeff, David & Sio Sen,
    Camera: Rebekah

    Wonderful day indeed. =D

    Vietnamese Visitation

    ------------------------------------------------
    Whats On My Mind:

    ICT project - Almost done
Food and Beverage project - Power point yet to be done
Room Division project - "How to do ah...?"
    Housekeeping presentation - Finishing touch!
Preparation for endless assessment - Praying to God more often
Dig My Nose - Ever ready!!
    -------------------------------------------------

I know I haven been updating this few days, as you can see why at the above statement.(except the last wan)

Been going out to friends place after class & night to work on our project.

    So...

    I'M SORRY!!!

I still haven receive the remaining pictures, so here is another filler post.

David's girlfriend(I shall refer her as 'cin') from Vietnam came down to Malaysia few days ago.

    Flag of Vietnam

Having someone who came to your country for the 1st time, of cost we naturally & "common sense-ly" wan to strike a good 1st impression.

UNFORTUNATELY, some people are just born with selfishly retarded mentality...

A hand full of our beloved Malaysian customs officer JUST HAVE TO make people so "tulan-ted" till they feel like crying..

Jeff, David and me helped with some bags and check in stuff,
    hospitality students in action!

*WARNING: The story below not confirmed, I heard this when I was sleepy, might miss out or changed something*

I'm not clear what happen to Cin, as far as I know, David told me his story when he entered Malaysia from Singapore, the customs officer denied his access,

You know what those blood suckers at our side of the boarded did? They asked for some kopi-o money, saying that if he do so then only they will let him pass. -.-

You thing our ass made of gold meh...

Until he showed his Singapore certificate, ensuring that his entrance to M'sia is for study purpose, they let him pass...

Stupid rite? I don't know what Cin went through, she did not like M'sia really much and up to a point till she refuses to visit KL city(David told us),

    Yellow line means "park on"

David had no choice but to take her there to so call "change the image" of M'sia in her mind.

    CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE IT?!

    A non-Malaysian, bringing another non-Malaysian, to save Malaysia's "face"...

    Ironic so ironic...

BUT don't worry my fellow country people! Our 'maruah' is not all doomed! Me and some of my friends tried to be a good host to her,

Doing all we can to make her stay in Malaysia a better memory, and so we did(I hope)...

Jeff drove us for midnight supper at a local hawker stall near Taylor's PJ campus.

Food + drinks + outside sitting watching polluted skies + car exhaust gas = one-helluva-tasty-food!

    Nguyen Tan Phu(David) & Nguyen Thu Thao(Cin)
    "Tan = New, Phu = Rich" ; "Thu = autumn, Thao = grass" O.o

Many people said they look like brother and sister instead of a couple! Hahah!

Anyway Cin, I hope you will somehow enjoy your stay in Malaysia. =)

    Punctuality, Whats That?

Clearly this is just a filler post, I have yet to received the pictures for proper update.

Anyway, this happened back at the month of May.

Remember our anticipation for Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End?

For me, it turned up to be disappointing, POTC 1 & 2 was awesome, I loved it, but the 3rd episode was just somehow weird and I din really like it.

What made it even worst was all of my friends had already watch before me, except Chong.

So we booked the ticket, the reception asked us to be there by 10am(or something like that) to collect the ticket.

Or else the ticket can be up for sale.

We have no choice, cause all the other slots are full. So we got up from our early morning sleep.

Being kiasu & cant wait to watch the show, we din wan our tickets to be sold to others.

    Upon arrival at the cinema...

What shit u talking? Be here early or our tickets will be sold to others?

BUT WHERE THE HECK ARE U PEOPLE!?

    STILL EATING YOUR KUIH?! -.-
