Memories Of Term Two In Black And White

    Whats On My Mind:

Yin! Remember to pass me all the pictures we took during our Ad production period and other photos of term 2 also once college starts, thanks! =D

As I was picking photographs for this post, I realize I'm missing lots of important pictures.

I'll have to put those up some other time in other post. =)

I remembered I said here, I cant wait for term 2 to start.

I remembered we were all excited about term 2 when it just started.

I remembered I thought everything will just be as fun or even better then term 1.

I remembered I have to eat my own words up...

I remembered accounts was bull shit.

I remembered writing "I forgot how to do!" in my 2nd accounts test and ended up scoring 1/20(0.5 actually).

I remembered skipping my 1st class(half an hour) in college for a friend, because she lost her phone.

I remembered Chelsea stuffed the entire piece of apple pie into my mouth when I said I don't wan it.

I remembered we enjoyed moral class the most, and had the most kick arse project ever!

I remembered Karl played DotA and CS during accounts class while the others dream, talk, sleep and act as if they understand.

I remembered I lost a love one close to me in the middle of project rushing period, with the absent of my mother who was over seas that time, to make things worst, she took the car key along with her...

I remembered I've did badly for front office assessment this term, I dint really like the class as much as I do back in term 1.

I remembered we got screwed by Chef Tan for not knowing the menu enough.

I remembered I've been to countless fine dining just this term itself even though I lost a lot of meal voucher, thanks to a Aaron for sponsoring some. ;)

I remembered we always entered business maths class late, because the 4 of us, Karl, Jeff, Han and I left for breakfast after oenology class.

I remembered Rebekah wasn't as active in class as she is now, going in front of the blackboard and do accounts question for extra marks was a shock to me till I have to capture that moment on camera. =P

I remembered 'war' broke out among us.

I remembered how a number of parties used to work together turned up to face their backs on each other now.

Sio Sen with her laugh till become red face! XD

I remembered even though as a spectator, I tried my best to tailor back this particular cracked friendship, but to be in vain.

I remembered saying to one side, "maybe you should reflect back on your actions, it might be the cost of all this dispute.", but he said "I don't care." Shy to admit mistakes? Pride perhaps? I'll never know.

Ginger trying its very best to snatch the spoon from me

I remembered learning a new language, but speaking it never failed to make people laugh.

"Tum tum bo" means 'fat boy' in Korean

I remembered learning how to tolerate with others who are from different background, behave differently and maybe not well liked by others, and sometimes irritating me also.

I asked Clarissa whats your Korean name,
    she conteng my hand instead...

I remembered expending and building up friendships.

I remembered we lepak outside together more often.

I remembered doing lots of last minute studying before exams, especially accounts.

I remembered I was the 1st to walk out of the exam hall during accounts test, because what I've studies was flushed down the toilet...

I remembered we complained that how tired we were.

No doubt term 2 was partially exciting, partially shitty.

It was the phase we understood each other more, be it for the worst or better.

    Term 6 student performing flambe

Nevertheless, 2 terms down 4 to go!

The only sad thing about term 3 is...

Tulan-nya!!! There goes my Friday morning...

National language, for the ones who get "[D]ynamic" results for BM in their SPM......

But I don't have to do it alone! Wahaha~ Karl, Jeff, Wee Jinn and I will undergo this extra government "blessing"!

Anyway, see you guys in college soon! Have a great new year to all of you~ ;)

    Big Bad Banner

    Whats On My Mind:

To end this year, I will be writing a reflection post about term 2. So to all my fellow college mates, lets review back all that has happen for the past 3 months before we enter into another phase!

It will be out on new years eve! Stay tune! ;)

This is just a filler post, honestly, I'm running short of pictures to post.

Don't worry, that doesn't mean that I will stop blogging, rest assured, this blog will NEVER die as long as there is one reader left! ;)

I will try my best by opening my eyes to look around for new shots. =)

Alright, there was this banner which I spotted near my college some time back.

From far it looks just like any other normal banner, but if we go closer...

    Job for grabs!

    Once hired, will be sold!

    Law Abiding Or Plain Crazy?

Most of us who are able to drive, we tend to pick up phone calls even though we were warned not to do so, or even better reply SMS while driving.

Honestly.. I don't really see these kinda practice often.

Just by judging ourselves as Malaysians, I confess sometimes on the road we are just behaving like the devil.

"Aiyah! What to do?!? Wan to survive on Malaysian road must like this wan mah...!"

I heard that phrase many times.

I thought we were suppose to stop behind the white line??

But what I saw today totally stunned me.

This particular person was just too good, up to a point that I feel like getting down of the car and give him a slap and ask him "what are you doing!?".

That bugger just parked on the grass along Federal Highway!!

Lets take a closer look and see what was he doing.

    Wah lao!

Park on the grass just to talk on the phone!

Now, thats something I'll never ever get to see in my entire life again.

    Advertisement Presentation Day

It was 5am+ in the morning, I've not yet finish editing 'The Making'.

I have kitchen class in just a few hours time.

"Go to sleep!" was what my body cries out to me.

I had to persevere... I cant just leave something unfinished until it reached a certain standard.

    With problems like this...

    And this...

What more can you ask for to cook up disaster?

Thank heavens the problem some how went away, miracle!

I went to bed around 5am++, I thought few hours of bed time count make up for my entire day.

But hell no... As soon as I got up around 8am, I felt like I've just been through a car crash, I showed signs of vomiting.

I had no choice but to skip my last term 2 kitchen class...

11am, I rushed to college after taking a longer nap, I saw a text message, it was from my lecturer - Mr Adrian, message received time, 7am+.

It said something sounds like this.. "To all t-shirt distributors, please meet me at the auditorium as soon as possible, thanks!"

    Gee.... Look at the time..

Anyhow, I meet my lecturer and everything went well, I've got so much of time till I don't know what else to do.

2 of my friends Chloe and Eugene came for my friends lunch service(I was suppose to cook!), unexpectedly one of my other friend - Adrian, turned up. And later Chong came.

So, since I have lots of time, I've joined them for lunch service(drink water only)! Such irony.. I was suppose to cook, ended up being a sudden guest.

Anyway, thats not the point.. Having to skip kitchen class ain't that bad at all, I've got to see each and every Ad that was shown.

I forgot his name(some advertising lecturer), Mr Adrian & Linus Chung from the movie 'Sepet'

There are some which I like, don't really like, laugh about and remember, even now I still remember.

    Finally its our turn!

The moment we were waiting for!

Our heart beat was getting faster and faster!

We have to do an introduction in front of everyone.

The anxiety, stress and joy all fusion into 1 big mix of emotions. The labor of almost 3-2 months finally on the big screen.

As I was about the play the Ad, we got even tense!

The windows media player cant start.... =.=""

    Pure potong steam only...

When the Ad finally went on screen, that feeling that all of us had were just something words cant describe, especially for me.

Looking through all the other 17 agencies Ad was fun, tired and hungry....

Linus Chung took up the role of 'Simon Cowell', all 18 agencies were somehow 'shot' by him in a way or another, but he made a lot of point.

And what he said that strike us in our faces the most was "this is more to a film then an Ad.", the advertising lecturer said the same thing too...

I knew at that moment, to win was a fat chance..

All the excitement of doing the project, but at the heart of it, we "keluar tajuk" without us realizing it.

Just like SPM essay paper, once your out of topic, no matter how good your writing is, the marks will still be lower then people that write not better then you.

    Results time!

There will be 1 winner and 4 jury award.

My team somehow agreed that we will at less get the jury award.

But when the results were announced..

    We looked something like this...

We din even get the freaking jury award!!!

To say that I'm not sad is a BIG FAT LIE.

    I'm not just sad..

    I was beyond sad...

Thats known as very TULAN! I bet all my team mates felt the same too.

Prize for jury award, the winners prize is the same but bigger,
and the head of studies agreed to give them a certificate!

Come to think of it, we actually know what went wrong, why we did not win or even get the jury award.

Mr Adrian was kind enough taking time to explain to us what he think went wrong on the following day.

    And we discovered a secret!

He told us that our Ad was the favorite among everyone, including the other lecturers(Even Chef Tan came to the Ad fest, though I "ponteng"(skip) his class in the morning)!

After the presentation day, messages flooded his inbox asking him for a copy of my agencies Ad!

The best part was, he told us that he even change the Ad format to fit into his phone!!! =O

That was something we never expected anyone would do, I've never even put the Ad on my phone but he did...

All the sadness and 'tulanness' was no more, the matter of winning and losing was no longer important to us.

What mattered most was we know that many people like our Ad, and thats awesome! ;)

Beats winning and getting certificate(even though we really wanted it).

Finally the end of TCHT Ad Fest chapter, I hope you all were not bored to death. =P

Anyway, I will upload 3 of my favorite and the winner's Ad on Youtube, later on I'll will post it on my blog for viewing pleasure!

Have a Blessed Christmas & a Happy New Year guys! ;)

Making The AD - Part 2

    Scene 2 - Taman Seputeh

Have you ever worked with kids?

Well, if you have, your are able to relate with me.

This was my 1st time working with kids.

What more 2 hyperactive ones(Both are Hui Wen's cousins).

    For illustration purpose only..

I don't have the pictures for this part, so I shall not talk much about it.

It wasn't easy for the 5 of us(me, Lim Yin, Hui Wen, Kwan Han & Sonia), truly it was the most tiring shooting ever, but we had the most fun.

Working with kids are so much different from people in other age groups.

Things you expect them to do somehow they wont be able to or done at the time your not ready for the shoot.

The summary? I've learn much from this experience. =)

    Scene 3 - Ampang(Lim Yin's house)

We actually went there twice, due to certain parts needed to be retaken(1st part pictures I don't have, only 2nd part I have).

    "I see youuuuu....."

For this stage, time was the major factor, we went WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of schedule due to "VIP" issue.

Imagine 3 hours++ behind time.. Not a pretty sight indeed.

At less we discover a new talent that almost everyone loves.. =D

What more this time we ain't working with kids, but adults, Lim Yin's parents!

Good impression? Definitely hancur... All thanks to "VIP".... -.-

I had the greatest headache shooting this part. Already time is not on your side, lightings, settings & etc also come against you, perfect chemistry for disaster...

This was taken during the 2nd time we went,
thats why still got time.. =P

After all the hassle of this and that, we still manage to pull it through, except having to go there the 2nd time, everything was ok! =D

Photo shoot with the star(the sad girl in the video) after everything was done..

And there you go, as you all can see, the 'black and white family scene' came to pass. =)

    Scene 4- KLCC Park

This wan is the most vain of all.....

Due to sudden change of video plan, the entire thing turned upside down.

Once again sorry.. For this part, I have yet to receive the photos, therefore I shall keep it short again. ;)

Remember one of the early scene in the video where a guy(Kwan Han) pushing his hair back his head, the face cannot see wan, and got something like camera lance flare?

We spent entire day there, doing this and that, ended up using only that part!

This was more like a team outing then project.

One of the rejected picture for the video because its blur.. =(
But I like it very muchhhh.. =(

Nevertheless, its still part of the production and we all enjoyed it! ;)

    Scene 5 - Taylor's College PJ Campus(Class Room 26)

Yes I know, I don't have the pictures, sorry la... I haven received it yet ma..

For this section, I worked with the biggest group of people during the entire production.

We asked the international students for help - to be actors!

It was much more easy then working with kids and parents, I would say, better communication level.

There are only 2 problem here, time(exam was after the shooting) and getting rid of the paint from the chair.

Once again by God's grace, everything went according to plan!

As you all have seen, the end result. ;)

Stay tune for the last part~!

    To be continue.....

Making The AD - Part 1

    Whats On My Mind:

Bon voyage! Ketemu tahun depan. =)

As I've promised, presenting tales behind the scene - advertisement production process.

I'll break it down into few parts, don't wan to bored you all so fast. ;)

Making the AD was really easy for us....

Not even close to the word easy or hard!

    Its beyond godlike~supremely~extremely~powerfully~si beh~terlalu~sangat~very hard!!!

    Group meeting

But with the effort as an entire team, it made the entire process more joyful instead of a burden.

No doubt its very tiring and even some times there are issues hitting us directly on our face, we still manage to make it through!

Filming has been my passion for few years and its still today, even thought I love it very much, but I'm not God..

Without the entire team, its totally impossible no matter how determine or good one is.

I can try my best to do anything, but not everything.

I shall start off by introducing my fellow team mates(a little bit sarcastic intro.. =P).

Hui Wen - Director of photography
Daniel - Actor: Not a good aimer, crew member and the dude that sings
Sonia - Actor: The sad one & crew member
    Me - Director & editor
Karl - Actor: Class mate, crew member & group joker who keeps us going on =P

Jeff(non-team members) - Actor: Triad boss in class & a faithful helper
Nina(non-team members) - Actor: The bitch sitting in front & a faithful helper

Kwan Han - Actor: Trying his best to be emo, crew member & man behind the door scene
Parvin - Actor: Tears? No problem, crew member, photographer & 'pathfinder'
    Lim Yin - Assistant director
Rebekah - Actor: The smiling one & crew member
Lu Shen - Actor: Still learning & crew member

After 1 week(or more?) of group discussion, so much of idea yet nothing was done.

All of us brain stormed like crazy, hopping from one idea to another, it seems as if there was so much yet so little.

Finally, we took whatever we have from the drawing board to the open fields.

And there and then, was where it all began...

Seeking consultation from our lecturer - Mr Adrian

Finally, the result was the video.

But what really happen was, whatever we came up with during our group meetings, the plans and ideas, 90% of them wasn't used.

    Hence the story begins...

Scene 1 - Time Square Bridge

Remember the scene where the dude holding the "I am HIV positive sign board"?

There was where we shot that part.

That was our 1st out of the story board experience.

Even though in the past I did shot some fun clips with friends, but this is nothing like what I did before.

    Something totally alien to me..

So freaking lots of people staring at us, they must be wondering why a bunch of students making a dude standing in the middle of the crowd declaring that he is HIV positive!!!

Is very very very amusing to look at the photos that Parvin took, the ones like these, facial expression of by passers.

    Welcome to Malaysia!

Keeping her fingers cross, hoping that is not true!

"Hey why are you looking at my ass like that?!?.... Assistant la! =P"

    Really really funny..

There was a guy who asked us "is it true??"

Can you believe that??!! People actually think it was real!!

    David and his virus

Overall, we had to put into consideration about the lightings, camera angle, time, people and everything under the sun.

It was this experience that drive most of us to wana do more(I guess).

    Its all worth it. =)

    Stay tune for more!

    To be continue~~!
